Prague - absolutely perfect
Great architecture, heavenly beer, tasty food and friendly people. These are the four pillars of a successful destination, which Prague is without a doubt. It is impossible to get bored in this city.
It has a great location, with the River Vltava dividing the city into two parts connected by magnificent bridges. Monumental buildings can be found on each side of Prague. Together, they form a complex and impressive cityscape. Prague is strongly dominated by Baroque architecture, but you will also find many churches, palaces and a castle in Renaissance and Gothic styles.
Getting around the city is easy. Start your walking trip from the Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí), which is surrounded by a beautiful church, the grand City Hall and a breath-taking part of the National Gallery.
You will soon see the most famous bridge of all, Charles Bridge, if you continue walking towards the river. This bridge connects the Old Town and Mala Strana. It has 30 Baroque statues and the tallest bell tower.
From Mala Strana, go up to Prague Castle in the district Hradčany. The castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens. There is even St.Vitus’ Cathedral right in the centre of the castle.
Prague has managed to retain its identity, character and tradition while at the same time developing in a modern direction. The Dancing House, a building by Frank Gehry on the riverbank, is proof that modern expression has found its place in the urban cityscape. We must also mention the following well-known shops: H&M, Zara and Marks & Spencer.
